Most definitely not. Sustainability and reducing food miles are at the core of Bright Barley, so our drinks are produced in the UK, using British, organically grown, barley flour which is ground at Shipton Mill in the Cotswolds.

ARE NATURAL FLAVOURS USED IN BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS?
Yes, in accordance with the strict Bright Barley door policy: if you’re not natural, you’re not coming in. See our full ingredients lists for more details.
ARE BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS SUGAR-FREE?
Our drinks are not sugar-free.
DO BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS CONTAIN ANY SWEETENERS?
In keeping with our guarantee of natural ingredients we use agave syrup, which is a natural sweetener (and the starting point for tequila: irrelevant, but interesting). Barley also has a delicious slight sweetness to it naturally, so you’re all set.
DOES YOUR COFFEE PRODUCT CONTAIN CAFFEINE?
Despite packing a rich coffee punch, only a tiny percentage of caffeine is contained in our coffee drink (20g per 100ml). Nevertheless, we do advise, “Not suitable for children, pregnant women and persons sensitive to caffeine” on the packaging.
ARE BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS GLUTEN-FREE?
No, barley naturally contains gluten, and who are we to mess with a supergrain that’s been doing its nutritious thing since 10,000BC? But our drinks are wheat free, yeast free, nut free and, of course, dairy free.
IS BRIGHT BARLEY, VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN?
Yes indeedy! BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS do not contain dairy, animal products, or gelatine, so are both vegetarian and vegan. And, for bonus points, contain added Vitamin B12 and calcium, amongst other goodies; both of which a vegan diet can struggle to source.
DO I NEED TO REFRIGERATE BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS?
No. BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS can be stored in a cool, dry place outside the fridge, but we recommend chilling and enjoying ice cold for maxed-out refreshment and indulgence. Once opened, keep refrigerated and consume within 24 hours.
ARE BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS SUITABLE FOR DIABETICS TO DRINK?
Your health is why we are here, so we won’t advise on whether the drinks are suitable for diabetics; because if you are diabetic it will depend on your particular medical condition and your GP’s advice. Best ask them.
WHAT DOES THE DATE ON THE PACKAGE CORRESPOND TO?
All BRIGHT BARLEY DRINKS are stamped with a best-by date, found on the top of the carton. We don’t anticipate it being an issue, but be sure to sup up before this date.
IS YOUR PACKAGING RECYCLABLE AND WHAT IS YOUR SUSTAINABILITY POLICY?
For sure. We love this big, old, beautiful planet, and helping to create a sustainable future for it is central to the Bright Barley brand. So, we make every effort to minimise our impact on the environment, which includes 100% recyclable packaging, using Tetra Pak cartons that are made from mostly renewable materials.
What does that mean? Renewable materials are natural resources that can be replenished over time sustainably and enable a move away from fossil fuel-based materials. On average, more than 70% of a Tetra Pak carton by weight is paperboard and one of their priorities is sourcing sustainable timber. Tetra Pak paperboard is a renewable material which is sourced from Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™)* and other controlled sources; and the carton packages can be recycled and transformed into a wide range of new products.

Credit card information, including the name on the card, card type, card number, expiry date and CV2 is collected and processed by our third party payment processor. We retain limited credit card information for our records (e.g. the last four digits for validation purposes), but we do not store or retain complete credit card information.
